enclosure physical location code displayed by the HMC, ensure the
four FC-AL cables are still connected to the T1 & T2 connectors
(labeled J1 & J2 on the sheet metal) on both FCIC cards in the
Rack-5 storage enclosure being installed. See Figure 2.
Note: These
cable ends should not have been disconnected as part of this installation
procedure.

- Are you here to install R5-S11 or R5-S21?
- Yes, the FC-AL cable bundle needs to be routed to Rack-3,
go to the next step.
- No, the FC-AL cable bundle should have already been routed
to Rack-3, go to step 8.
Note: If the cable bundle was not already routed, then the sequence
of installing the Rack-5 storage enclosures from top to bottom was
not followed. Go to step
7.
- This step routes (but does not connect)
the loose end of a Rack-5 FC-AL cable bundle to two storage enclosures
in Rack-3. DO NOT connect the cables until directed in the next step,
as it will cause installation errors.
Note: The
loose end of the cable bundle has four sub-bundles of two cables each.
Two sub-bundles will be routed to the left side of the storage enclosures
and two sub-bundles will be routed to the right side of the storage
enclosures.

loose ends of the individual cables are pre-labeled with the physical
location code of the enclosure and connectors they will connect to.
Find the rack number label located where the cable assembly is bundled
together, within 60 cm (24 in.) of the connectors. See Figure 4. Use Figure 1 and Figure 6 to match the cable
labels to the Rack-3 locations.
- Route, but do not connect, the one cable bundle
to the storage enclosure in Rack-3. Figure 5 for an example
of routing the cable bundle through the holes at the top of the racks.
