This is not a stand-alone procedure. Customer disruption and damage
to the hardware might occur if microcode and power boundaries are
not in the proper conditions for this service action.
If you were sent here by a serviceable event FRU repair, the microcode
and power boundaries have already been set.
Note: The CEC disk drive FRU must be replaced with a different
FRU. The FRU verification checks the disk drive serial number and
will fail if the original FRU is reinstalled.
Procedure
To locate this FRU, do one of the following
and then return here and continue to replace the FRU:
If there is no FRU identify indicator or location code, you
were sent here by an isolation MAP or symbolic FRU procedure. Use the information in that procedure
and the figures in this procedure to locate the proper part to exchange.
Most, but not all, FRUs have identify indicators. Use the flashing amber or solid blue FRU identify indicators to ensure that you are working
on the correct enclosure or FRU.
The "light path" identify LEDs are a hierarchy of LEDs that can
identify the rack, enclosure, FRU, and even the FRU connector to which a cable is
connected.
Squeeze the bottom of the CEC disk drive handle to unlock it. See Figure 1.
Pull the CEC disk drive handle out and then up. See Figure 1.
Grasp the CEC disk drive , supporting the bottom, and slide
it out of the disk enclosure. See Figure 1.

Install the CEC disk drive
Procedure
With the CEC disk drive handle in the up position, carefully
slide the CEC disk drive into the enclosure until it stops.
Note: The CEC disk drive FRU must be replaced with a different
FRU. The FRU verification checks the disk drive serial number and
will fail if the original FRU is reinstalled.
Move the CEC disk drive handle down into the locked position to seat
the CEC disk drive fully in. Verify that the front of the new CEC
disk drive is aligned with the other CEC disk drives. See Figure 2.
