Before you begin
Always handle a defective disk drive module carefully.
Damage to defective disk drive modules can have a negative effect
on failure analysis test results and warranty recovery.
Procedure
- To locate this FRU, do one of the following
and then return here and continue to replace the FRU:
- Most, but not all, FRUs have identify indicators. Use the flashing amber or solid blue FRU identify indicators to ensure that you are working
on the correct enclosure or FRU.
- The "light path" identify LEDs are a hierarchy of LEDs that can
identify the rack, enclosure, FRU, and even the FRU connector to which a cable is
connected.
- For more information, refer to MAP1240 Locating FRUs using identify indicators.
- Remove the solid state disk (SSD) dummy module. See Figure 1.
- Remove the bezel for the SSD dummy module being replaced.
- Gently press the bottom latch
to release the SSD dummy module handle.
- Pull the handle
out and up. This action partly ejects
the SSD dummy module out of its slot.
- Gently slide the SSD dummy module straight out of the
slot.
