You were sent here because the FRU replace failed for the I/O enclosure
backplane or I/O enclosure RIO card. Is the HMC at LIC
bundle VRMF64.xx.xx.xx
or later?
Use the new serviceable event to
repair the problem. If the repair is not successful, repair the original serviceable event. If that repair
is not successful, contact your next
level of support.
MAP4E30 Section-3
Procedure
To repair the problem, contact your next
level of support. This is the
action plan of the next level of support (PFE):
Follow the missing slot in device tree tip.
If the missing device tree condition occurs, collect a PE package and
open a defect for root cause analysis.
Follow the missing I/O enclosure concurrent procedures.
MAP4E30 Section-4
Before you begin
Note: If you have the SRCs BE340065 or BE36260B, return to Table 1 and
then go to MAP4E30 Section-5.
Procedure
Order a new FRU and retry the original repair. If the repair fails, contact your next
level of support.
MAP4E30 Section-5
Procedure
Determine if the RIO nodes for the I/O enclosure being repaired
are good using the View RIO Topology menu option.
Refer to MAP4E20 RIO Topology tool. For the
enclosure being repaired, are the leading and trailing port statuses equal
to "Operational"?
The possible failing FRUs in order of probability
are RIO card or I/O backplane. Replace FRU until the problem is fixed. After
the FRU is replaced, exit the MAP.
Do the normal repair of the new serviceable events
that contain SRC BE 340065 (DA card) or BE36260B (HA card). Continue to step 4.
Do pseudo repair of the existing RIO card of the same
I/O enclosure.
Note:
During RIO and tower repair activate, the adapter slot is brought back
online from left to right.
If one of the adapter slots fails to be online, the remainder of the slots
to its right is not brought online.
To recover the remainder of the slots, the pseudo repair of the RIO card
is performed.
Contact your next level
of support,
and they will provide an action plan if the problem persists.
