MAP4025 Acquire 2107 LIC bundle to the HMC

This procedure loads 2107 functional code bundle to the HMC before code distribution and activation. The code can be acquired from DVD/CD media or from the network.

Procedure

From the navigation area, click Updates.
From the right work area, select the radio button for the appropriate HMC. The bottom Task area displays a list of tasks you can select.
Click Acquire Code Images. The Acquire New Releases window opens.
If you are using CD/DVDs to acquire code, continue with this step. If you are using the network, go to step 5.
1. Select the Removable Media (CDROM) radio button.
2. Click Go.
3. Insert the CDROMs as prompted by the screens.
  A pop-up message will indicate the acquisition is complete.
4. Return to MAP4020 Hard disk drive build process for both boot drives in a storage facility image LPAR to complete the operation.
If you are using the network to acquire code, continue with this step.
1. Select the Network radio button.
2. Ensure that the proper address is displayed or entered into the Host Name or IP Address of Network Source field.
3. Enter the server address: ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/ds8000
4. Select Anonymous.
5. Click Go.
Highlight the LIC bundle to acquire, then click OK.
- A series of progress dialog screens will indicate the files are being read.
- A pop-up window will indicate when the acquisition is complete.
- Return to the MAP procedures that sent you here and complete that operation.
