MAP2340 Codes on the PPS status display

The PPS status display on the front of the PPS is used to indicate status and error conditions. Error conditions that are displayed will create serviceable events. Use the serviceable events to guide the repair.

Procedure

  1. The PPS is displaying an error code, which is defined in Table 1. A serviceable event will be created unless the PPS is in a rack that is not yet fully installed.
  2. During PPS power on, the PPS status display shows the PPS firmware level and PPS identification. The PPS firmware level is also available through the management console utilities to display the installed code levels. The following sequence of characters is displayed: XX > yy > zz > Tu
  3. After PPS power on, the status display is normally blank. If an error code is displayed, the PPS Fault LED indicator below the status display will also be lit and a serviceable event should have been created. If a serviceable event was not created, contact your next level of support.

    b0 Optional booster power module over-voltage while line cord power is present (hot standby)
    b1 Optional booster power module over-voltage while the system is on battery and the booster module is providing input to the DDM modules
    b2 Optional booster power module under-voltage while line cord power is present (hot standby)
    b3 Optional booster power module under-voltage while the system is on battery and the booster module is providing power to the DDM modules
    b4 Optional booster power module over-current while line cord power is present (hot standby)
    b5 Optional booster power module over-temperature while the system is on battery and the booster module is providing power to the DDM modules
    b6 Optional booster power module test failed (provides power during battery test)
    b7 Optional booster power module over-current while the system is on battery and the booster module is providing power to the DDM modules
    b8 Optional booster power module over-temperature while line cord power is present (hot standby)
