Checking for required microcode

Procedure

  1. Determine if there is a "required " or "recommended " level of microcode available for your storage facility or management console.
    • For IBM® personnel, consult your next level of support for this storage model.
    • For non-IBM personnel, follow the established process to determine the required code level.
    Notes:
    1. Required means that the storage facility must not be transferred over to the customer without the indicated code level installed.
    2. Recommended means the IBM service representative can either:
      • Give the storage facility to the customer when the installation is complete.
      • Negotiate with the customer for a more convenient time to update the microcode.
