This procedure will guide you in handling a LIC feature
license failure.
About this task
There are licensed features that the customer buys a license
for. The customer enables the features by downloading unique activation
codes from an IBM website for the specific storage facility. If
there is a mismatch, a problem will be created with an SRC field that
identifies the feature that has an issue.
Display the serviceable event and use
the listed SRC code to identify the LIC feature that
has an issue:
BE1E2116 LPAR LIC Feature Miscompare between partner
LPARs of an SFI
Have the customer display the LIC feature status. (LIC
feature activation is the customer's responsibility; there is no management console option
for the service provider to display or activate these features. The
LIC feature is disabled if the customer has not created and installed
the LIC feature.)
Note: The LIC features are automatically
reloaded as part of the CEC enclosure hard disk
drive rebuild process.
The LIC feature will be automatically disabled if the Configured
Capacity exceeds the Feature Capacity Limit. If it does, have the
customer do one of the following:
Reduce the configured capacity.
Purchase more LIC feature capacity.
Contact your next level of support to
run commands on each LPAR as root to verify
if the LIC feature keys on each LPAR match. The LIC feature key types,
capacities, and scopes will need to be verified on each LPAR.
Was there a LIC feature already installed on this storage facility?
Yes, a feature might have been removed, and both LPARs for
that SFI need to be rebooted. Contact your next level of support for
the latest procedure.
