MAP21A0 PPS fault isolation during install

The PPS is displaying an error code during the PPS power checks during an install. The install process is not yet far enough to use normal error analysis and repair procedures to repair the condition.

Procedure

  1. The PPS does not need to be repaired now; it is repaired later during the installation.
  2. Ensure the PPS cables are properly plugged and seated.
  3. Ensure the little silver enable/disable switches on the rear PPS modules are in the on (up) position.
  4. The probable failing FRU can be identified from the PPS error code and ordered now instead of waiting until the actual repair is needed later during the installation.
    Find the PPS error code in MAP2340 Codes on the PPS status display.
    If the error description is for: Order:
    A fan That fan
    An optional module That module
    A battery module enclosure The battery module set
    Neither a fan or an optional module The PPS FRU (which includes the five base modules)
  5. Return to the install procedure and continue the install.
