Connecting the mainline power cables on the racks (plug in)
Before you begin
DANGER
An
electrical outlet that is not correctly wired could place hazardous
voltage on the metal parts of the system or the devices that attach
to the system. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure
that the outlet is correctly wired and grounded to prevent an electrical
shock. (D004)
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each rack that you install.
Procedure
- Switch the customer circuit breaker to Off for the mainline power cables.
- Attention: Use lockout and tagout procedures as defined in the Electrical Safety for IBM® Customer Engineers.
- Verify the mainline circuit breaker (CB00) on the rear of each primary power supply is set to Off (down).
- Connect each storage facility mainline power cable plug to the customer AC outlet.
- Continue with Checking the rack switch settings.
